Celebrating dual wins at the UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards 2024 with two prestigious honours
Published: 13 November 2024
As the industry leader in pollution management and control, we are thrilled to be recognised once again for our commitment to excellence by the lead industry body at the prestigious UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards 2024, where we were honoured with awards in two categories.
The UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards serve as a platform to recognise excellence and innovation in the field of environmental emergency management, and we proudly stood out as a shining example of dedication and unwavering commitment to pollution management.
Let’s delve into how these acclaimed projects contribute to safeguarding our environment, businesses, and communities from pollution incidents.
Inland Responder – Large Incident
The award in this category recognised our extraordinary response to a major fire incident at Luton Airport’s terminal 2 car park on 10 October 2023.
Our knowledge, experience, and creative thinking delivered an all-in-one solution that proved a single expert partner can deliver on every project requirement. The scale of the fire presented multi-faceted environmental challenges, where the client’s ability to maintain continuity of operations was also a critical requirement. By delivering a comprehensive turnkey solution, we minimised the environmental, financial, and reputational costs of a significant pollution event.
This award underscores our commitment to providing unwavering support, from emergency response to ongoing asset care.
Sustainability
This award is a testament to our dedication to environmental stewardship.
On 26 February 2024, we were called to the emergency clean-up of an estimated 19,000-litre red diesel spill at a site in Chippenham. Caused by a failed underground fuel line, the diesel flowed off-site via a stream, contaminating a River Avon wetland habitat.
Our approach to containing the situation and addressing the initial contamination exemplifies our excellence in delivering effective, sustainable remediation. The swift, sustainability-led solution used responsible transport, remediation, and reinstatement to drastically reduce waste and emissions and restore the site’s fragile ecological balance.
These achievements are a celebration of our people and highlight our core values. They represent our ongoing commitment to environmental improvement, innovation, and sustainable working practices.
As we collectively face escalating environmental challenges, these accomplishments exemplify how our dedication to excellence can significantly impact pollution management, environmental emergency response, and sustainability. They stand as testaments to our commitment to protecting our environment for a brighter future.
