Two yearly vapour tightness testing (VTT)
We can carry out and certify VTT to comply with current legislation for Safe Loading Pass, necessary every two years.
Three yearly intermediate tanker testing
We provide intermediate tank testing using gas to ensure the integrity of the barrel from both external and inter-compartmental leaks. Current legislation allows this to be carried out at up to three yearly intervals; however it is common industry practice to have this test carried out at two yearly intervals in line with the vapour tightness test.
Six yearly periodic testing using gas or water
Periodic hydraulic tank testing using gas/water ensures the integrity of the barrel from both external and inter-compartmental leaks. Current legislation dictates that all tanks carrying hazardous goods are subject to this testing procedure.
Benefits of gas testing six yearly periodic
Unlike traditional water testing; using gas eliminates the risk of water cross contamination and potential biofuel fungal issues, thereby reducing your business costs and avoiding unnecessary wastage of water and disposal costs. We can carry out gas testing at client’s premises, saving on fuel costs and reducing tanker off road time.
Safe Loading Pass (SLP) Inspection Service
All our inspectors are accredited by the FTA to issue SLP’s for all types of fuel road tankers. Managed by the FTA, the Safe Loading Pass Scheme (SLPS) identifies the vehicles and trailers that meet the safety standards required for admittance to fuel and gas loading terminals. The SLPS has been extended to cover Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) and any vehicle wishing to load LPG at participating terminals must be inspected under the SLPS when their existing pass expires.
The SLPS is recognised by members of the UK Petroleum Industries Association (UKPIA) and the Tank Storage Association (TSA).
