This time, let's get to know Jen Patterson, Marketing Business Partner - Water Division.

What was your background before joining Adler and Allan?

The world of PR and marketing has always been my haunt. I started my career at a PR agency, working with a variety of companies to refine their communication strategies and build their brands.

What made Adler and Allan stand out to you?

A passion for environmental issues and climate action has always been close to my heart. Whether it's reducing my plastic use or supporting sustainable businesses, I try to do my part. When I learned about Adler and Allan's commitment to tackling environmental challenges, it felt like a perfect fit. It was a chance to contribute to something meaningful.

It's been nearly five years at Adler and Allan now, and it's been a period of incredible change. The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to adapt to a work-from-home environment, which definitely presented its challenges, especially juggling childcare and homeschooling while maintaining a full-time job.

Beyond that, the company's strategy has undergone a massive transformation. Our expansion into the water industry has opened up exciting growth opportunities. When I started, we had just under 500 employees; now, following several acquisitions, that number has climbed to nearly 1,700!

What accomplishment are you most proud of so far?

From a professional standpoint, launching the new, enhanced and improved Adler and Allan website stands out. Writing all the content for that project was a massive undertaking, but incredibly rewarding.

What do you do to unwind outside of work?

I'd say I'm a pretty crafty and creative person – which probably comes in handy in marketing! At home, I enjoy making jewellery, painting, and doing other crafts. It's even more fun when I can involve my two young daughters. We create all sorts of things together – our house is a constant art project!

Looking ahead, what excites you most about 2024?

We have ambitious plans to keep pace with the company's growth. This includes enhancing our digital strategy to ensure this key channel has our improved presence. This year, we took our first steps in this direction with the water division by launching dedicated websites for Aqua Consultants, Jet Aire, and Oneline. Now, we have a clear and consistent brand identity for the entire water division, which aligns perfectly with the overall company strategy.

There's still a lot of work to be done, and with new acquisitions on the horizon, we're constantly evolving and growing. The future looks bright – it's going to be busy, but I can't wait to see what we accomplish.
