Getting to know Andy Crotty, Business Development Manager

Meet the people behind our success as we unveil the stories, passions, and expertise of our dedicated team. Discover how their experience enables us to become a trusted environmental services partner for clients across the UK. This time let's get to know Andy Crotty, Business Development Manager at Public Sewer Services.

Andy has over a decade working in the drainage industry and settled into his role as Business Development Manager at Public Sewer Services in 2024. Here he helps raise the profile of the company and assists the sales team with processes and reporting. Outside work, as well as being dad, he turns his hand to Sunday league football.

What was your background before joining Public Sewer Services?

I started working in the drainage industry back in 2012 as an operations assistant. I then worked through the chains to manage a fleet of over 40 tankers before finally moving into sales, which has enabled me to build a close relationship with so many wonderful clients over the past 13 years.

What do you do at Public Sewer Services?

Working closely with Adler & Allan, I am responsible for raising the company profile using digital marketing and seek market opportunities to expose the company to greater possibilities. Working closely with the sales team, I help with internal processes to make our reporting structures more efficient and provide insight into new prospects.

What is the biggest challenge you see in the environmental sector in the next 10 years?

Our biggest challenge in the environmental sector is climate change. However, the challenge for the drainage industry is how we reduce raw sewage output into our watercourses while combatting the ever-changing climate.

Is there anything you’re looking forward to in the next 12 months?

I’m really looking forward to evolving within the company and delving further into our potential.

What excites you about coming to work?

Not every day is the same. I get to bring new ideas to the company, help provide initiatives to colleagues, and work with a well-rounded team which spans outside of Public Sewer Services.

And what do you like to do when you’re not working?

Spending time with my children and trying to keep up with the younger players at Sunday league football – that is one of my greatest challenges!
