Getting to know Jayne Trevelyan, Principal Environmental Consultant

Meet the people behind our success as we unveil the stories, passions, and expertise of our dedicated team. Discover how their experience enables us to become a trusted environmental services partner for clients across the UK. This time, let's get to know Jayne Trevelyan, Principal Environmental Consultant.

What was your background before joining Adler & Allan?

Before Adler & Allan, I managed a team that delivered due diligence environmental assessments (mainly land contamination but also flood risk and other environmental disciplines) associated with property transactions for UK real estate clients. I enjoyed assisting clients buying and selling all manner of properties and sites and helping to transform and grow a successful environmental transactions team.

How did you become Principal Environmental Consultant at Adler & Allan?

After 17 years at another environmental consultancy, I decided to seek out other opportunities and contacted a great former colleague and consultant, Bryan Cherry. As Bryan had recently set up managing the busy land quality team, it was exceptional timing, and I joined the team in December 2023.

What changes have you seen since being at Adler & Allan?

As I have only been at Adler & Allan a short time, I can’t really say much about changes since I started. However, the land quality team has already seen growth, which I am sure will continue. There have also been positive changes in regard to the systems used and, while possibly not a change, I have been welcomed by colleagues and fully supported by the wider business when appropriate.

What is your biggest achievement to date?

Although I have only been at Adler & Allan a short time, there are several achievements to mention: developing relationships with new clients and colleagues; working on several large, interesting sites and projects; attending the UKREiiF conference, and improving my mental health.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I like to keep fit by either walking my two small terrier dogs, Sid and Nancy, or running – most of the time on my own, although Sid enjoys a short occasional blast!

I also like crafting, mainly embroidery as I find it relaxing and rewarding when I’ve finished an epic image (the last one took me about 5 years to complete). More recently, I have also dabbled in jewellery making with a group of friends.

What’s next for Jayne in 2024?

All good things! At Adler & Allan, continuing to be part of a fantastic growing team. Outside of work, spending time with friends and family – particularly in my campervan no matter the weather.
