Getting to know Ellie Pepper, Senior Environmental Consultant
Meet the people behind our success as we unveil the stories, passions, and expertise of our dedicated team. Discover how their experience enables us to become a trusted environmental services partner for clients across the UK. This time, let's get to know Ellie Pepper, Senior Environmental Consultant.
How did you get involved with our Environmental Team?
My passion for the environment grew early on, leading me to pursue both an undergraduate and master's degree in environmental geophysics at the University of East Anglia. Leaving university, I knew I wanted to actively contribute to environmental well-being, and joining Adler and Allan three years ago provided the perfect opportunity.
My journey began in the spill response support team, focusing on prevention measures. Today, I'm a proud Senior Environmental Consultant within the land quality team, conducting crucial site investigations for our clients. What I find truly rewarding is witnessing the entire client journey – from identifying environmental concerns to analysing, monitoring, reporting, and finally implementing recommended solutions.
What are the significant environmental issues at Adler and Allan?
The past year has witnessed a significant shift in the regulatory landscape for our clients, specifically regarding discharge consents. To address this, we've actively expanded our knowledge in this area and, as a team, been proactively assisting clients in navigating and complying with these evolving regulations through dedicated monitoring programs.
What has been your biggest achievement to date?
Earning my master's degree undoubtedly stands as a significant accomplishment. The analytical skills refined during my studies have proven invaluable in my current role, allowing me to approach environmental challenges with a critical and thorough lens. Beyond this, I'm incredibly proud of the trajectory my career has taken at Adler and Allan. Staying within the same sector as my academic focus has been a fulfilling experience, allowing me to apply my knowledge and passion for the environment in a meaningful way.
What are your hobbies and interests?
In my free time, I find immense joy in exploring the outdoors with my husband and our dog. Immersing myself in nature allows me to connect with the environment I strive to protect in my professional life. Additionally, I've developed my skills and learned to play the piano.
What’s next for Ellie in 2024?
Looking towards 2024, I'm committed to contributing to the continued success of the land quality team by building upon the exceptional work we've accomplished. I'm particularly excited about the prospect of participating in upcoming larger site investigations, which will undoubtedly present valuable learning opportunities and allow me to further hone my expertise in this crucial area.
