Bird flu cleansing
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) or bird flu refers to the disease caused by infection with avian (bird) influenza (flu) Type A viruses. These viruses naturally spread among wild aquatic birds and can infect domestic poultry and other bird and animal species.
Avian influenza spreads from bird to bird by direct contact, or through contaminated body fluids and faeces. It can also be spread by contaminated feed and water, or by dirty vehicles, clothing, and footwear.
Expertise and understanding
We can provide primary cleansing and disinfection services directly for the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), or supply secondary cleansing and disinfection services to commercial and domestic bird and poultry owners after the initial cleaning. Our professional teams carry out all works to the highest standards using all relevant protective and cleaning equipment.
As experts in hazardous waste management, we ensure that all Category A contaminated liquid and solid waste is removed from your site. Any wash down water used in the cleaning process is prevented from entering watercourses, stored, and collected, and then transferred to our waste facilities.
Once secondary cleansing and disinfection has been completed, decontaminated areas are ready for immediate occupancy.
